These letters were assembled by Lady Paget as a collection of autographs. Most are addressed to Paget, and their subjects include medicine, science, and family.

These papers include correspondence concerning the publication and republication of Wood's "Dispensatory of the United States" and "Treatise on Therapeutics and Pharmacology, or Materia Medica" by J.B. Lippincott & Co. Also included are twelve diplomas and certificates of membership in American and European professional societies.

Chiefly correspondence with Alexander John Gaspard Marcet on chemistry, with references to Sir Joseph Banks, Jean Francois Berger, Johan Jakob Berzelius, Jean-Baptiste Biot, and others; a few letters to and from John Bostock, Thomas Cooper, John Wilson Croker, Giovanni Fabbroni, and Henry Penneck.

This collection contains correspondence on natural history, expecially mollusks, fishes, and birds, and on medicine and social affairs, with references to the British Museum of Natural History. Also included are a paper by Owen on dinosaurs and a synopsis of a course of lectures, 1857.
